Domestic Musings

There are some fabulous ladies at church who are helping us younger ladies and wives become more domesticated. I have officially discovered that I'm not so good at knitting or crocheting. Although I am super grateful to Jo for trying to teach me. However, I was more successful at learning how to bake bread and cinnamon rolls. I have tried previously to make Mom's Sally Lund bread, but I could never get it to rise! Imagine my excitement when I made this little sucker from scratch! I can't take all the credit. Jody is a wonderful teacher! I also have this fabulous cinnamon roll dough (also made from scratch) sitting in my fridge. I'm planning on rolling them out and baking them later this week to take to Holly's for the weekend.

I also made this Peanut Butter Pie for a YM Net (Young Married's Network) church event. Sadly, our freezer wasn't set cold enough so it didn't freeze in time. I'm still learning. It looks pretty though doesn't it?! AJ says it's delicious, so I consider it a success.

I'm enjoying decorating our bigger apartment. There is a lot of things I'd still like to do, but this is a start. I usually lean towards cooler colors, but I liked how the orange popped! I'm excited to get curtains for the living and dining areas!

PS. Today I recommend Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. It comes out on DVD Friday! AJ and I already pre-ordered our copy. :)

I thought you were already the expert (Great Harvest) bread maker. Maybe we should have cooking lessons while at the beach. Briana can teach us all!
