AJ was in the wedding of one of his fraternity brother’s over the weekend in Alexandria . Friday evening was the rehearsal dinner at McCormick and Schmicks at National Harbor . The weather was perfect, and we watched the sunset over the water. Saturday during the day, I entertained some of the girlfriends/fiancés of the groomsmen who had come in from out of town. We got lunch and went to the pool. The Wedding was gorgeous, and AJ looked extremely handsome. J We had a blast at the reception dancing with a lot of AJ’s fraternity brothers. Sunday we were pooped, and did absolutely nothing. I hadn't been feeling very well all weekend, so it was marvelous to be lazy.

Our New Apartment
So, maybe it's not THAT new anymore, but I thought I would showcase it for this lovely blog post. It's not a fancy place, but it's comfy and we like it. Let me show you!
PS. We could probably be reps for Ikea. Most of our furniture is from there.

Life Update!
We have been so busy that I have not had any time to blog. I'm sum up the weekend briefly...
Thursday night: we went out to have Mexican food with some friends for Cinco De Mayo.
Friday: I went to see Something Borrowed (wait till till it comes out on DVD) with a bunch of girlfriends. AJ saw Thor (he recommends it) with a buddy.
Saturday: I had brunch with a couple of the girls in my small group. We celebrated Mother's Day with AJ's mom Saturday afternoon, and in the evening we went to Alexandria to have dinner and walk around Old Town with Dana and Brad.
Sunday: we went to church where I helped with the high school girls small group. Then we headed over to the Battlefields of Manassas for a couple hour hike. PHEW. we are tired. Check out these sweet photos from our mini-hike!

Domestic Musings
There are some fabulous ladies at church who are helping us younger ladies and wives become more domesticated. I have officially discovered that I'm not so good at knitting or crocheting. Although I am super grateful to Jo for trying to teach me. However, I was more successful at learning how to bake bread and cinnamon rolls. I have tried previously to make Mom's Sally Lund bread, but I could never get it to rise! Imagine my excitement when I made this little sucker from scratch! I can't take all the credit. Jody is a wonderful teacher! I also have this fabulous cinnamon roll dough (also made from scratch) sitting in my fridge. I'm planning on rolling them out and baking them later this week to take to Holly's for the weekend.I also made this Peanut Butter Pie for a YM Net (Young Married's Network) church event. Sadly, our freezer wasn't set cold enough so it didn't freeze in time. I'm still learning. It looks pretty though doesn't it?! AJ says it's delicious, so I consider it a success.
I'm enjoying decorating our bigger apartment. There is a lot of things I'd still like to do, but this is a start. I usually lean towards cooler colors, but I liked how the orange popped! I'm excited to get curtains for the living and dining areas!PS. Today I recommend Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. It comes out on DVD Friday! AJ and I already pre-ordered our copy. :)

Musings when I'm sick
Since Friday evening, I have been sicker than a dog (or in my case, cat). This particular strain of flu has me down for the count. I thought for sure I was near death this morning, and AJ would have to drag me to the hospital (So, I'm a little dramatic). This afternoon I'm feeling a little better, and I am actually sitting up on the couch! An amazing feat for me. AJ has been wonderful as always. Making me soup, getting me medicine, and water, and he's been dealing with my whining. He's wonderful. I am super thankful for him. It made me think about how Mom's can get sick and still functions as Moms. I've been a huge bed-ridden baby, and I can't imagine being this sick with kids. How do you do it?? Thanks Mom for taking care of us even when you were sick!
Also, I have watched a million movies in the last 2 days. Some of them I slept partially though. Because I like recommending movies to you, I will do so now.
- Baby Momma- See it!
- The Rocker- Skip it!
- Big Daddy- See it!
-Water Boy- See it!
-Going the Distance- DON'T SEE IT!- terrible movie
-How Do you Know- Take it or leave it.
-Serendipity- See it!
-Knotting hill- See it!
-Miss Congeniality- See it!
-Back to the Future- This is how you know I'm sick. I hate these movies, but I was too sick to change the channel.
My lovely husband has just brought me a bowl of soup to for me to attempt to keep down (TMI, sorry). Time for me to continue taking up the entire couch and eat some veggie soup.

Life Update!
How beautiful is this tree? I get so excited when I see these trees in our neighborhood blooming. SPRING IS HERE! Which means so many wonderful things. Eat your hearts out, Minnesotans.
Betsy and Wes came for a visit this past weekend. We took them to Georgetown, and got Georgetown Cupcakes and ate dinner at Clyde's. It was gorgeous outside, and we love our quality time with the Buntings.
On April 1st, AJ and I will be moving into a 2 bed/ 2 bath apartment. Our complex was trying to up our rent for our tiny 1 bedroom, so we struck a deal! We're getting a 2nd bed and bath for $50 more than what they were trying to up our rent to. We're pretty excited. Moving won't be terrible because it's in the same complex..just a hassle. Now you people don't have an excuse to not come visit! SO get down here!
Today I recommend the movie:

Quidditch and Chinese Food
So, again I have decided to change the list. I don’t like the categories Facebook recommends for the 30 Day Photo Challenge, so today I’m going to showcase my favorite movies and my favorite books! Get excited! I’m literally an expert in critiquing books and movies.
Movies:
Enchanted- This is the sweetest movie I have ever seen. I cried countless times through out it. I love the characters, plot, and innocence of the entire film. I’m getting teary eyed just thinking about it!
Titanic- This is one of the few movies that I have to watch whenever it is on TV. I just do.
The King’s Speech- The King’s Speech is the best movie overall that I have seen in years. I can’t even begin to describe how incredible the acting and cinematography are. Go.See.It.Now.
White Christmas- A classic! They don’t make movies like this anymore. These actors ooze pure talent.
Books:
The Harry Potter Series- Need I say more. J.K. Rowling is brilliant. Her storytelling is the best on the plant.ever.intheworld. Plus, who doesn’t secretly wish they could fly around on broom sticks and play a fictitious game called Quidditch?
The Help- The story is told from the view points of various women during the civil rights movement. It’s fantastic.
Jane Eyre- Technically, I have not finished this book yet. However, it is quickly becoming a favorite. Why don’t we talk like this anymore??
Pride and Prejudice: I’m just a sucker for good romance. My roommates in college and I would have Price and Prejudice marathons. The BBC version of the movie is approximately a billion hours long, and we would order Chinese and watch the movie all day long. Lovely.
If you know what’s best for you, you will watch all of these movies and read all of these books. Michie has spoken.

Dear Family,
I told you I would be terrible at blogging, so don't say I didn't warn you. I will make this one HUGE post to get caught up on the 30 day photo thing. I have edited the list because I didn't like some of the questions. and BEGIN!
Day 4: A picture of your favorite night and Day 5: A picture of your favorite memory
Duh. This was the best day/night of my (and everyone else's) life! June 19, 2009!!! <3
Day 6: A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day
Ok, so I promise I did not choose Sabrina the Teenage Witch because I want to be a witch. I have ALWAYS wanted to point at myself to change my clothes! How cool would that be? I would chose all these crazy designers, and zap! I would have on Christian Louboutins and Michael Kors! Ps. Does a more beautiful pair of shoes exist?? I would argue no!
Day 7: A picture of your most treasured item
I adore my engagement ring. It's perfect and beautiful.
Day 8: A picture that makes you laugh

Too much TV?
Day 3: A picture of the cast from your favorite show
No contest. The best television show on air in my lifetime. The characters are outrageous, but just normal enough that you can relate to them. The writing and acting is hilarious. Jim and Pam are the best couple on television. Dwight and Jim's interactions are hysterical. Erin's relationship with Michael is priceless, and Daryl's personality is setting him up for a brand new main character. I mean, I couldn't possibly gush anymore. All in all. Amazing.
